LAPm puerto rico, LLC is a local executive training business established on August, 2019. We concentrate on preparing aspiring candidates for taking the CAPM or the PMP certification tests.
Its principal, licensed Architect Luis A. Pico Lacomba is a certified Project Management Profesional since 2002 and member of the Project Management Institute, globally and locally since 1999. Architect Pico's experience covers 42 years or experience in the design, construction fields and management fields. The last 29 years were devote to managing the Design and Construction Department of Banco Popular. His main goal was to assure the projects in Popular's capital investment program were achieved on time, on budget with requirements compliance and internal client satisfaction.
He beliefs every professional should give back to the emerging practitioners. That led Architect Pico to become a strong collaborator with the Colegio de Arquitectos y Arquitectos Paisajistas de Puerto Rico (CAAPPR), actively participating in its education program and the development of the new professional practice manual issued on 2004. He actively lectured for several years on administration and project management topics.
Mr. Pico has also been an active presenter in PMIPR's professional development program and it's yearly Symposium. He was also president of the chapter from 2010 to 2016 and is still supporting the chapter as Past President and other volunteer activities.
His teaching journey also includes 15 years experience as professor in the Graduate Program of the School of Architecture of the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. His courses include Introduction to Professional Practice; Ethics, Regulations and Administration in Architecture; Finance Principles in Construction and Project Management. He has also lectured as part of the UPR's Deanery of Professional Studies.
Arch. Pico and Ms. Elba Santiago have been married for 43 years.
Ms. Santiago holds a MArch Degree and Interior Design. Her experience includes design work as well as administrative work. For 15 years she was part of the teaching staff at the San Juan School of Interior Design. For 20 years she was administrator of R. Santiago Santos pharmaceutical business and its eventual estate. Ms. Santiago is very active in various pro bono endeavors in her parish and in the Stewardship Committee of the Archdiocese of San Juan.
